About NMS

Welcome to Nichols Middle School! An A-Rated Middle School that is soaring beyond expectations.

Nichols Middle School is one of two middle schools in Joshua  ISD.  We are located at 2845 FM Rd  731, Burleson, TX 76028.  Nichols Middle school is fed by Plum Creek, Elder, and half of North Joshua Elementaries. Students living on the east side of 174 are able to attend Nichols Middle School. As of September 2023, our enrollment is approximately 607 students.

Nichols Middle School is led by Principal, Mrs. Tammy Watts and her two assistants, Mr. Kris Connelly and Mrs. Kristin Morrision. With a veteran teaching staff and two counselors, students feel supported within the walls of NMS. Even with growth all around us, we have been able to maintain a median teacher to student ratio of 20 to 1 with most of our classes having no more than 25 students.  

We pride ourselves on our excellence in all things, including our award-winning Academic UIL, Band, Choir, Theatre Arts, and Art as well as a first-class athletics program. More about our organizations can be found on our organization tab above.

Fun things students look forward to at NMS are things like school dances, pep rallies, our annual Color Battle and open gyms. Our student council and NJHS work hard to serve our community and the entire 8th grade class gets into serving on our annual Acts of Service day each year.
