At their March 25 regular meeting, the Joshua ISD Board of Trustees recognized many members of the JISD family.
The Board recognized Plum Creek Elementary teacher Christin Ellis for being named the 2024 Jack Harvey Teacher of the Year.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School 7th grade C Team girls basketball team for their successful season which earned them 2nd place in the Lonestar 8. Team members recognized were: Maggie Angeles, Aniston Hardin-Auvenshine, Makaylah Gonzales, Addy Kilcoin, Abby Knight, Sophia Torres, Almedina Wood and Ella Wood.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School 8th grade A Team girls basketball team for their successful season which earned them 1st place in the Lonestar 8, and 1st place in the Joshua Tournament. Team members recognized were: Kinlee Alexander, Madelyn Allen, Lyndie Freeman, Chloe Knippers, Markie Lain, Hadley Soto and Alexis White.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School 7th grade A Team girls basketball team for their successful undefeated season which earned them 1st place in the Lonestar 8. Team members recognized were: Peyton Davis, McKalynn Fontenoo, Korie Graves, Mia Hicks, Macie Lillagore, Harlyn Menzel, Elexee Ray and Ella Skronek.
The Board recognized the Nichols Middle School Varsity Treble Choir for bringing home a UIL Sweepstakes from their recent competition. Choir members recognized were: Aaliyah Carrasco, Joslyn Cranmer, Madison Crowley, Avery Gille, Hadley Jones, London Kerbs, Madilyn Lain, Olivia Lentz, Leah Metzger, Ava Murillo, Josie Pearce, Austyn Puckett, Annabelle Rush, Ally Sanders, Sophia Sirota, Denise Staas, Peyton Thill, Ryleigh Yates and Haven Watson.
